In December, the entire Ore Mountains turns into a winter wonderland. Kurort Oberwiesenthal as a mecca for winter sports fans then really blooms.Beyond borders, the small town in the Ore Mountains is known to winter sports fans and nature lovers.

To warmly welcome each winter season and to bring the city's guests into winter mood, it is a tradition to start every season with an Winteropening event.This year on the 6th, 7th and 8th of December.

The two day event is organized for the fourth time by the Fichtelberg Schwebebahn in cooperation with Gewerbeinitiative Oberwiesenthal.
